Classes

From relaxing yoga to high intensity HIIT classes, we have a great range of group sessions in which you are guaranteed to find something that you enjoy. We run over 60 classes each week and all of our classes are instructor led. We have recently added a new range of GP referral classes suitable for those returning to Health and Wellbeing.

Safety First

The majority of our classes take place in our main hall. The hall has recently undergone refurbishment and now boasts a 'studio feel' which is light and fresh.

Descriptions

2RM Pump – If you're looking to tone up, build muscle or burn fat, this Pump class using weights will give you an all over, total body workout. As you lift, curl and lunge your way through the range of upbeat exercises

50+ Exercise Class – whole body health circuit suitable for the over 50s working around any health conditions you may have to help maintain fitness levels and mobility.

Aerofit – A fun, challenging class designed to keep you moving whilst maintaining a steady, raised heartbeat to keep your heart healthy and create a toned physique

Aqua Fit – Water aerobics is the performance of aerobic exercise in water. Done mostly vertically and without swimming typically in waist deep or deeper water, it is a type of resistance training.

Body Conditioning – Strength, endurance and fitness are all challenged in this high energy, muscle strengthening, medium intensity class.

Body Max – Aerobics meets muscle toning with light hand weights to trim and tighten from head to toe.

Cardio Combat – A high energy, fun cardio class inspired by martial arts, where you can kick, punch and strike your way through a total body workout.

Circuits – Moving from one station to the next doing varied exercises for a timed period, working to your max in each period to improve overall fitness, stamina and endurance.

Cycle Intro - The perfect introduction to Indoor cycling. This class is designed for those new to Indoor cycling.  It will give you the confidence to enjoy the benefits of our Indoor cycling classes.  We will guide you through the bike set up, work through the gears and move in and out of the saddle in a slow and progressive way to get you to a place where you feel confident to take on one of the many Indoor cycle classes we have to offer.

Cycle ‘N’ Sculpt – A burst of indoor cycling followed by a resistance workout; the perfect mix to work the whole body.

Zumba/Dance Aerobics – Latin and international music with a fun and effective workout system. Ditch the workout and join the party.

Dance Mix – A fun dance workout blending varied music genres with dance & fitness moves. Great aerobic workout.

Deep Water Aqua Fit – Slightly more challenging than Aqua fit, this workout uses buoyancy belts as an aid. Gentle on the joints whilst getting a great cardio blast.

Dumbbell HIIT – Similar to HIIT below but instead of using own body weight dumbbells are also used.

Gentle Yoga – Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. This class is gentler and more suitable for beginners.

HIIT – Short for ‘High Intensity Interval Training’ this metabolism boosting, calorie burning workout alternates between very intense anaerobic and slower recovery periods.

Indoor Cycling - Indoor cycling, low impact class focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery, and involves using a special stationary exercise bicycle with a weighted flywheel in a classroom setting. It is commonly called spinning.

Movement Yoga (Progressive) – Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. This class is our most challenging yoga class.

Otago – Designed specifically to prevent falls, improve strength, balance and confidence. A chair-based workout featuring a set of leg strengthening exercises, balance retaining and walking plans.

Pilates (Beginners) – Pilates aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness and wellbeing.

PowerFlex - A challenging class that includes a variety of exercises focusing on strength using light hand weights, aerobic activity, balance and flexibility. A fast paced class designed to help you improve strength and aerobic fitness.

Referral Circuits – Originally set up as a Cardiac rehab class, a very gentle circuit for people trying recover from a health condition.

Step Aerobics – A form of Aerobics done on a raised platform, small hand weights/resistance bands are also used to burn fat, and maintain fitness.

Swim Fit – Be the swimmer you want to be with this challenging session which aims to improve your fitness and technique

Tai Chi – Tai chi combines deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th-century China, tai chi is now practiced around the world as a health-promoting exercise.

Tone Zone – Whole body exercises suitable for all, working around any heath conditions you may have and working to your own level. Great for people getting back to exercise and people on the GP referral scheme.

Teenfit – Supervised sessions in our gym or main hall. A series of challenges designed to continually develop stamina and physical endurance.
